I recently had the fun opportunity to spend some quality downtime poolside in Las Vegas with fellow lawyers and other law firm professionals. I thought it might be fun to quiz them about the worst thing about being a lawyer (or working with lawyers).
Here are some of the responses; to see my full poolside TikTok, check it out here.
Without further ado:
Q. “What is the worst thing about being a lawyer?”
A. “Literally everything!”
A. “Collecting money from people.”
A. “The emotional labor.”
A. “Ignorant opposing counsel.”
A. “Talk to my student loan provider.”
Q. “What is the worst thing about marketing to lawyers?”
A. “That they think they have time to do everything themselves, but they really don’t.”
Q. “What is the worst thing about working with lawyers?”
A. “Oh my god . . . . “
As you can see from the TikTok, each of those responses came with a laugh. Working as a lawyer – and working with lawyers – obviously has its ups and downs, just as any job does. That’s all the more reason to do everything you can to work in an area of the law that you find fulfilling and meaningful.
At the Greer Law Group, we feel like we’re some of the lucky ones. We’ve found our niche, the area of the law that makes all of the headaches and frustrations that come with the job worthwhile. Being able to help people who have been injured or harmed because of someone else’s actions or negligence is what keeps us going. We put up with all of the difficulties because we want to make something good happen for our clients after something bad has happened to them. It’s as simple as that.
